Since Syntroleum’s inception more than 20 years ago, the company has developed smart, forward-thinking alliances that further strengthen the company’s position in the gas-to-liquids (GTL) industry. In 2004, Syntroleum continued this commitment by signing an agreement with ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Company.

The agreement provides Syntroleum with a worldwide license under ExxonMobil’s GTL patents to produce and sell fuels from natural gas or other carbonaceous substances such as coal.

The scope of the agreement includes the fields of syngas production, Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis, product upgrading to make fuels and various processes that relate to these areas. It includes all existing ExxonMobil patents in these areas and future improvement patents in these areas over the next several years.

As Syntroleum continues to grow and expand its reach in the GTL marketplace, the company will always seek relationships with alliances that deliver value and position Syntroleum as an industry leader in GTL technology.
