Syntroleum Corporation has developed proprietary technologies for the production of Synthetic Fuels via the Fischer-Tropsch route and also the hydroprocessing of animal fats, vegetable oils, free fatty acids and used food greases into Renewable Synthetic Fuels . These technologies are offered to project developers/owners through a royalty bearing License Agreement and technical consulting is offered through a Technical Service Agreement.
The technology solutions fall into four primary categories;
1.Production of syngas (carbon monoxide and hydrogen) from carbonaceous feedstocks
a. Syntroleum proprietary Auto Thermal Reforming, air based reforming of natural gas.
b. Syngas production from other carbonaceous feeds, Syntroleum can advise which gasification or reforming technologies are best suited for your application.
2. Syngas Clean Up
a. Syntroleum offers proprietary technologies for the removal of contaminants from the raw syngas.
3. Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis
a. Syntroleum offers proprietary technologies for the conversion of syngas via the Fischer-Tropsch (FT) route to a raw paraffinic product.
i. Slurry Bubble Column Reactor
ii. Fixed Bed Tubular Reactor
b. Syntroleum offers our proprietary FT catalyst and catalyst regeneration system (SynmGEN TM ).
4. Product Refining
a. Synfining TM is our proprietary technology for converting raw FT products into market ready, ultra clean Synthetic Fuels and Synthetic Lubricants.
b. Bio-Synfining TM is our proprietary technology for converting animal fats, vegetable oils, free fatty acids and used food greases into ultra clean Renewable Synthetic Fuels.
Syntroleum also provides engineering and consulting services as it relates to the production of synthetic fuels. Our engineering staff has experience in research and development (R&D), design and construction of pilot units through commercial scale, plant operations including unit start-up, and product evaluation.
